This vintage aluminum mortar and pestle would be a decorative addition to any kitchen decor. Based on its large size, it was probably used in an apothecary when new for compounding drugs or grinding herbs.

The mortar is 5 inches tall, 6 inches across at top & 3.5 inches across on bottom. The pestle is 9 inches long. The set has a great primitive look with signs of use inside the mortar and on the pestle. There is some rust on the bottom as well as a few tiny chips along top edge,

  • Vintage aluminum mortar and pestle set
  • Oversized, so was possibly intended for use in an apothecary
  • Wear associated with use gives it an interesting rustic look
  • Circa 1940's

CONDITION:

Good vintage condition. Discoloration and wear (detailed above) are consistent with age and use.
