Not sure of the actual use for this interesting old wooden file which boasts what appears to be a maple handle & knob plus a metal file blade on the bottom. When we purchased it in NE in the early 90's, we were told it was an "auto body" tool from the 20's but we have no idea how it would be used on a car.
The file's history may or may not be correct but it definitely is an unusual old tool with a nice industrial look.
Measures: 21" (end to end) x 1.5" x 3". Unmarked but there is a "patented" stamp on the handle.
