Victorian tin photo button presumably made in celebration of a marriage. This lovely floral celluloid over tin button features a beautiful array of pansies, dogwood & other flowers around the edge framing photos of the stoic couple.
It was purchased near a small community in South Dakota that was settled by Russian immigrants in the 1800's. Based on the couple's clothing, it's very possible they were members of that community.
The button is over-sized at 9" in diameter & is a bit out-of-round, as can be seen in the last photo. No scratches or damage to the face of the button.
This is a very nice piece of vintage memorabilia from the days before online photo albums delivered instant memories.
