Antique hand-painted hand mirror (c 1890s)
Oversized folk art hand-painted hand mirror. Wooden frame with lovely patina. Poppy design on the back of the mirror with a leaf design on the handle. Nicely crackled paint. The beveled mirror has cracked in half but remains intact in the frame.
The mirror measures over 16" from top to bottom of the handle and is 8" wide across the top. It's quite large for a vanity mirror which makes me think it might have been an art project when it was made.
It is in very good condition given its age. The paint is crackled and there is some loss which can be seen in the photos. The mirror is cracked.
