Vintage "Sweet Burley Tobacco" country store tobacco tin tin dating to the early 1900's. Great gold, deep red and green metal tin & with a hinged, latched lid. The graphics are fabulous - touting "fine cut" on both sides and reading "Spaulding & Merrick - Liggett & Myers Tobacco Co. successor," followed by the specifics of the tobacco.
The gold color indicates this tin held the light blend of the tobacco. It originally held 48 individual packets that sold for 5 cents each. 10" high x 8" in diameter. The condition is quite good, given its history. The tin is slightly out of round and the lid doesn't close completely, as seen in the photos. The bright color and remarkable graphics offset these issues.
Nice piece of early American advertising in very good vintage condition.
