This pair of crescent moon and star staff toppers were once finials on a pair of IOOF Odd Fellows Rebekah ceremonial pieces. They were acquired when the contents of the Odd Fellows/Rebekah Lodge in Beresford SD which closed in the 1920s were auctioned off. The staff/flag poles are long gone so the toppers have been mounted on a piece of wood to display.
The mounted toppers measure 7.25 " tall x 3.5" across. The new wooden bases are 3" square.
Made of impressed pot metal, the crescent moon paired with seven stars is one of the symbols used by both the Odd Fellows and the Masons and signifies the value of regularity in work.
