A primitive, handmade match holder made of paper mache, very possibly a child's art project.  Mounted on a repurposed board that was once red, it boasts its original greenish-grey painted finish.

Measures 8.5 long x 4.5" wide and the match holders are 2" tall. Good vintage condition given its age. The paint is worn and cracked with some loss at the bottom which can be seen in the photos.

This is a nice piece of handmade, one-of-a-kind American folk art.

  • Early American paper mache match holder
  • Appealing folky design
  • Original paint
  • Circa 1900s

CONDITION:

Good vintage condition given its age. Some loss of paint and cracking which only contributes to its charm.

SPECIFICS:

Material: Paper mache

Measures: 8.5" tall x 4.5" wide

NOTE: Because this is a vintage item, it carries the markers of age you would expect to see. Please review the photos carefully & ask questions because we are unable to accept returns or exchanges.
