Highly collectible spongeware bowl, marked "It Pays to Trade with Max Brothers, Kaylor So. Dak" on the inside bottom. An interesting country store promotional piece that dates to the turn of the 20th century.
Glazed cream colored ceramic covered with brown & rust colored spatters. Inside label is stamped in dark blue. Unmarked on the bottom but possibly Red Wing. Medium sized bowl measuring 4.25" tall, & 8" in diameter.
Very good condition with some wear around the rim. No chips or cracks.
Pieces like this were store "give away's" so not many have survived....making those that did highly collectible.
