Vintage ephemera, Dewey OK "The Annual Roundup" envelope (dated 1926)
An interesting piece of early American ephemera, this envelope advertises the 19th annual roundup held on the 4th of July weekend in 1926 in Dewey Oklahoma. The graphics are absolutely fabulous featuring a bronco buster, and a photo of Joe A. Bartles, president and founder. The text reads "Bronco Busting, Steer Roping, Steer Bulldogging, Races" and then throws in "Boxing. A real contest from start to finish. Not a Wild West Show. Everybody Welcome - Nobody Barred. Ask the fellow who has been here". Boy, wouldn't you love to know the story of what happened at the 18th??
