Early Tinsel Foil floral art - reverse painting on glass, framed

Liquid error (templates/product line 46): could not convert ProductVariantDrop into money

This is a fabulous example of tinsel foil art, made by placing crinkly metallic foil under a protective surface of reverse-painted glass. It features an abstract floral bouquet in a presentation basket topped off by a ribbon. Undated but appears to be from the Victorian era.

The bonus is that the collector I purchased this piece from documented the foil used to construct the painting before framing it. I didn't bother to check his work because the handwritten notes on the cardboard affixed to the back added to its charm.

The black wooden frame measures 7.5" x 11.5". Excellent condition

  • Floral tinsel foil reverse painting
  • Done in shades of rust and greens in a black wooden frame
  • The foil used in construction documented on the back
  • Likely dates to the Victoria era

Material: Tinsel foil behind glass in a wooden frame

Measures: 7.5" wide x 11.5" tall.

NOTE: Because this is a vintage item, it carries the markers of age you would expect to see. Please review the photos carefully & ask questions because we are unable to accept returns or exchanges.
